Is Zillow in Trouble? Zillow and Realtor.com comparison
[Question for a Realtor] After reading this do you think Zillow is in trouble?
My initial thoughts
Realtor.com is doing it better and maybe Zillow helped when they broke their contract and are not getting data from ListHub but are getting it directly from MLSs and brokers.
The image I used which is captured from therealdaily.com article shares a big problem Zillow is having. Zillow is not getting listings fast enough and are falling behind realtor.com in major and minor markets and of course the accuracy of their listings SUCK! Just saying.

Zillow is the most popular real estate database on the web, but it may not be the most accurate, and it may soon be outpaced in the number of listings by competitor sites, according to a study by BuildZoom.
Combining data with its sister site Trulia.com, Zillow Group’s sites have more web traffic than any other. However, realtor.com just surpassed Trulia in web traffic, making it the second most popular database online. News Corp acquired realtor.com last year, and the merger seems to be generating a flush of new visitors to the site.
Comparing Zillow and realtor.com
Zillow Group began to decline back in April when they broke their contract, and stopped getting data from ListHub, and started working directly with MLSs and brokers to get listings. Unfortunately, Zillow can’t seem to find listings fast enough to keep up with its competitors, cites the study.
Final Thoughts
I think most would agree that Zillow has less listings and there listing accuracy is well below that of Realtor.com. So why are they still getting the most traffic. I think consumers are tired of dealing with the unfortunate standards set by many real estate agents and brokerages that will accept a warm body and let them loose on the public.
